CROGHAN, NY ~ Zachary D. Zehr, 35, of Bridge St., Croghan, died Monday morning, March 21, 2016, from injuries sustained in a single car motor vehicle accident on Route 3 in the Town of Colton, in St. Lawrence County.
Zachary was born on February 22, 1981, in Lowville, NY, the son of Brenda K. Lee and Vaughn E. Zehr. He was a graduate of Beaver River High School, Class of 1999. He attended Jefferson Community College and SUNY Morrisville.
Zachary was employed by Purcell Construction in Watertown. He was previously employed as the Parts Manager at Essenlohr Motors in Lowville.
He was a member of the F & AM Lowville Masonic Lodge 134, the Cedars Golf Club Wednesday Night League, and the Community Basketball League. Zachary enjoyed many hobbies including golf, basketball, video games, volleyball, and hunting.
Surviving besides his mother and step-father, Brenda and Ken Chartrand, of Croghan, and his father, Vaughn E. Zehr, of Watertown, are a sister and brother-in-law, Gretchen and Gilbert Monnat, of Croghan; two nieces, Madeline and Natalie Monnat; a nephew, Brayden Monnat; maternal grandparents, Robert and Muriel Lee, of Lowville; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Zehr, of Croghan; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Zachary was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Mark Zehr.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 10:00 AM from St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan with the Rev. Daniel L. Chapin, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private.
There will be no calling hours.
