Black River – Sharon M. Manos, 80, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at her home.
Sharon was born September 6, 1944 in Carthage, a daughter of the late Errol and Mildred (nee. David) LaGrow. She was a 1963 graduate of Carthage High School. She was married to Thomas C. Manos on December 31, 1981 in Black River. Mr. Manos predeceased her on January 1, 1996.
Sharon worked for Northland American Process and later American-Lincoln Manufacturing, building vacuum cleaner motors and other electronics. She retired in 2007 as an Inspector for the company. Sharon loved to travel and go antiquing, she was known to her nieces and nephews as the “Fun Aunt” who helped with all the science projects and would take them “Trick or Treating” every year and get pillow cases full of candy.
Sharon in survived by a brother, Lester (Bridgett) LaGrow of Germany, niecesand nephews, Vada Aucter of Lowville, Errol “Tony” (Bonnie) Aucter of Kirschnerville, Paula Biasone of Syracuse, Cora Howard of Parrish, FL, Valda (Alan) Ardt of Deer River, Maria (Thomas) Freeland of Plainfield, NH, Brenda (Edward) Greenwood of Copenhagen, Raymond (Laura) LaGrow of Carthage and Neil LaGrow of Kentucky, step-children, Thomas (Debra) Manos Jr. of Watertown, Ronald (Marcia) Manos of Kentucky and Diane (Christopher) Leone of Florida, step-grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Thomas, parents Errol and Mildred, she was predeceased by a sister, Beverley (Paul) Aucter, brothers, Neil (Sally) LaGrow, Roger (Linda) LaGrow and Gary (Beverly) LaGrow.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm at the Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm.
