HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Robert Lewis Bechler, 72, died of heart failure on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Carthage, NY where he had been a patient for the past 6 months. He had resided at 14475 Mill Street in Harrisville where he had been a life-long resident.
Born February 21, 1952, the son of Doris Bechler, he was educated at Harrisville Central School.
“Bobby” was well known throughout the area as an extremely talented artist, painting large murals, signs and various other artwork for many. He had also worked on farms and for Viking Manufacturing in Harrisville for a short time.
Surviving are his aunt, Lynne Gadbaw, of Harrisville; his cousins, Patrick Bechler, of Phoenix, AZ, Tori Mashaw, of Harrisville, NY, Phillip Bechler, of Cadyville, NY, Raymond Bechler, of Sackets Harbor, NY, Leonard Bechler, of Eureka, CA, Scott Bechler, of Warrenton, VA, and Steven Bechler, of Cleveland, NY.
He was predeceased by his mother, Doris Bechler and his aunt, Florence Bechler, whom he lived with for several years, who earlier this year on died on January 28th.
There will be no formal services at this time. His interment will take place in Pitcairn Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.
