Lowville, NY ~ Nancy C. Boliver, 77, of Lowville, died unexpectedly on February 15, 2016 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, following complications from surgery.
Born March 14, 1938, in Lowville, a daughter of Elmer and Ilean Gerow Feisthamel.
Nancy was a graduate of Fr. Leo Memorial School in Croghan, Class of 1955.
She married Harold W. Boliver on October 12, 1957 in St. Stephen’s Rectory. Mr. Boliver died on November 17, 1988.
Nancy had been employed by Beaverite and AMF. She was also a caregiver for the elderly.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and gambling. She was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She was a member of the St. Stephen’s Church, the New Bremen Fire Department Auxiliary and the Kraft Golden Girls Luncheon Group.
Surviving are six children, James E. (Karen) Boliver, of Lowville, Tina M. (Robert) Kerfien, Westley J. “Hank” (Lynette) Boliver, all of Croghan, Patrick H. Boliver, Jeffrey B. “Jazzy” Boliver, both of New Bremen, and Amy I. (Anthony) Purcell, of Croghan, eight grandchildren, Zachary (Shannon) Kerfien, Tyler Boliver, Kimberly Boliver, Joshua Purcell, Andrew Purcell, Troy Purcell, Isaac Boliver, and Logan Boliver; a sister, Beatrice Stanford, of Lowville; two sisters-in-law, Lena Aucter, and Evelyn Yousey, both of Croghan.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she was predeceased by two sisters, Alma “Tudy” Feisthamel and Dorothy Boliver.
Nancy’s funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 beginning with a 9:15 a.m. Prayer Service at Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM from St. Peter’s Church, Lowville, with the Rev. Daniel L. Chapin, pastor of St. Stephen’s Church, officiating. Spring burial and graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Croghan.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 18, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
