LIVERPOOL/HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Marie C. LaDuc, 81, of 303 Buckley Rd., Liverpool, died peacefully at her home on September 12, 2013.
Born January 15, 1932, in Luxembourg, a daughter of Joseph and Suzanne Tyson Cocard, she was educated and graduated from high school in Luxembourg. She later received a degree in hairstyling and cosmetology in France.
She married Dennis G. LaDuc, formerly of Harrisville, NY, on July 19, 1954, in Luxembourg. Mr. LaDuc died on December 4, 2012.
A homemaker for most of her life, Marie was an avid Syracuse University basketball fan, and especially enjoyed other sports including tennis and soccer. She was also well known as an exceptional flower gardener, and took pleasure in hunting and fishing.
She was a parishioner of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Mattydale.
Surviving are her children including a son, Kenneth G., and wife, Calleen LaDuc, Brewerton, and daughter, Cheryl S. LaDuc-Buchanan and husband, Richard, of Sloansville, NY; her granddaughter, Jesse K. LaDuc, Brewerton; a sister, Annette Pounds, Mesa, AZ: three brothers-in-law, Clyde and Stephen LaDuc, both of Harrisville, and Francis LaDuc, of Carthage; two sisters-in-law, Mary Bond, of Harrisville, and Anne Safe, of Angola, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Cocard, and two sisters, Cecile Fischer, and Marie Paule Utterbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at St. Francis Solanus Church in Harrisville, NY. Her family will receive relatives and friends at the church beginning at 9:45 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Harrisville.
