NAPLES, FL ~ Leffel Marjorie Albertson, 91, of Naples, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Chateau at Moorings Park, Naples, where she had resided, and where she had been under the loving care of her daughter, special friends and Hospice.
Leffel was born on August 15, 1923 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, a daughter of John Wesley and Lizzie Stafford Dilbeck. She received her education in Mountain Home, and later moved with her family to California.
On March 8, 1947, she married Charles Augustus Curry, Jr. in Las Vegas, NV, and together, they resided in Orange County, CA, where she worked for 25 years with Northrup Grumman Corporation. Mr. Curry, a US Army WWII veteran, died many years ago.
She later married Louis Albertson, Jr. on March 31, 1982, after which she and “Lou” resided in Orange County until their retirement when they moved to Summerfield, FL. Mr. Albertson, a US Army WW II veteran, died on April 26, 2001. Following his death, she moved to Naples where she had resided for the past 11 years.
Leffel dedicated her life to loving her family and took great pleasure in doing volunteer work for various organizations. She also enjoyed spending time with her many friends at her Moorings Park community in Naples.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda D. and William N. Macartney, III, Naples, FL and Clinton, NY; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kelle D. Wallace and Andrew Burkus, of Philadelphia, PA, and Jamie L. and and Justin Weiler, of Whitesboro, NY; two great grandchildren, Olivia L. and Cameron L. Weiler, of Whitesboro, NY; three sisters, Inez Lonon, of Caulfield, MO, and Jewel Huey and Louise Lumbert, both of Mountain Home, AR, and two very special friends, Vivian Frometa and Lucia Hernandez, both of Naples, who provided her with companionship and loving care.
In addition to her husbands, Charles and Louis, she was predeceased by three brothers, Cliff, Clyde and George Dilbeck.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 777 Mooring Line Drive, Naples, FL 34102. Private interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
