HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Laura J. Kloster, 66, of 7027 Hogsback Rd., Harrisville, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Born March 11, 1948 in the Town of Hastings, a daughter of Luther and Beatrice Morrison Kaler, she was raised in the New Bremen area and was a 1965 graduate of BRCS.
A marriage to Kenneth Kloster ended in divorce.
Laura was a private care giver for the elderly for much of her life, providing services to people throughout Lewis County. She also had worked at the former Kallet’s Nursing Home and as a bartender at the Belfort Inn.
Her favorite pastimes included flower gardening and crafts, especially crocheting, creating blankets, making all sorts of dolls, and working on plastic canvas.
She is survived by her father, of Harrisville; two daughters, Laurie A. (Jesse) Fort, Croghan, and Tammy Kloster, Wentzville, MO; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; her sister, Pauline Thomas, Harrisville; two brothers, Donald Kaler, Georgia, and David Kaler, Missouri.
She was predeceased by her mother and her sister, Shirley Kaler.
Laura’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan, with Deacon Michael Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Belfort.
Calling hours will be also on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral service.
