HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Karen Ann Kramer, 72, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2017 surrounded by family under the care of Lewis County Hospice.
Karen was born in Bronx, NY on July 6, 1945 to the late John and Frieda (Balzer) Duncan. Karen grew up in Walden, NY graduating from Valley Central High School. She married Eugene (Art) Kramer on August 18, 1963. The couple resided in Summitville, NY where they raised their family. Karen worked at the Summitville Post Office for many years. They relocated to Harrisville, NY in 2004.
Karen was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She loved holidays and any opportunity to bring the family together. Karen was an avid reader and marvelous cook.
Karen leaves behind her husband, Art, a son Andrew (Dorothy) Kramer of Harrisville, NY, a daughter Jennifer (James Myers) French of Hannawa Falls, NY, and four grandchildren: Nichole French, Kathryn French, Dan Rivera, and Phillip Kramer. Karen was predeceased by her mother Frieda (Balzer) Duncan Ronk and stepfather George (Pep) Ronk.
As per Karen's request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM from St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, Harrisville, with Rev. Donald J. Manfred, Pastor, officiating. Arrangements are with the Scanlon Funeral Home, Harrisville.
