CROGHAN, NY ~ Jesse L. Yousey, 49, of 6995 Kirschnerville Rd., Croghan, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at his residence.
Born November 25, 1962, in Lowville, NY, a son of James R. and M. Alyce Eggleston Yousey, he was a 1980 graduate of Beaver River Central School, and had also attended Hudson Valley Community College, Paul Smith’s College of Forestry in Saranac Lake, and Jefferson Community College.
He was a former employee of Kraft Foods in Lowville, was a NYS Licensed Guide and was currently working in road construction.
Jesse was an avid hunter and fisherman, and held the New York State Brook Trout record twice during his lifetime. He was well known throughout the North Country for his fishing abilities and also known to release other record-breaking trout. Additionally, he was known for hunting the “big buck” and occasionally got one. Jesse spent many hours roaming the wilderness areas of the Adirondacks, especially the Tri-Ponds region.
Surviving are his mother, of Croghan, two sisters, Lola Mae Yousey, of Gainesville, FL, and Mona Alyce (Kevin) Peebles, of Naumburg, NY; two brothers, James R. Yousey II, of Croghan, and John P. Yousey, of Anchorage, AK; and many beloved cousins and friends.
There will be an informal celebration of Jesse’s life held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the former Buckhorn Tavern, Long Pond Rd., Belfort.
There will be no calling hours or formal funeral services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis County Mental Health.
