CARTHAGE, NY ~ Francis Milton Bush, 85, of Deer River Rd., Carthage, died Friday, October 10, 2025 at Wynn Hospital, Utica.
Born July 28, 1940 in Lowville, NY, a son of Milton and Paulene Schwendy Bush, he was educated at Beaver River Central School.
He married Patricia Kampney on September 2, 1961 at St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan.
Francis was a farmer in Deer River for many years and a part-time heavy equipment operator for the Lewis County Highway Department, and a full-time heavy equipment operator for the New York State Department of Transportation for 18 years before retiring in 2002. He also worked for many years as a logger for various outfits including Ron King, Jr.
As an avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his loving wife, Pat, of 64 years, he is survived by three children, Denise Bush, of Watertown, NY, and identical twin sons, John Bush of Florida, and Mark Bush of Watertown. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Chrissy and Paul Monnat, of Lowville, Sheila and Gaylen Roggie, of Croghan, and Eleanor Bush, of Croghan.
He was predeceased by his brother Bernard Bush, and two sisters, Louise Hooley and Eleanor Kirch.
Per his family’s wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours.
