Donna Hall Obituary
HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Donna V. Hall, 78, of Harris Courts, Harrisville, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville, where she had been a patient since December 20th.
Donna was born in Harrisville on June 12, 1938, the youngest of five children of Floyd and Dorothy Mayhew Reader, and was a 1955 graduate of Harrisville High School.
Marriages to Nelson Lawrence and Jon Hall ended in divorce.
During her younger years, she worked as a Home Health Care Aide throughout the North Country. She later worked as a Medical Assistant for Dr. Richard Neil at the Harrisville Health Center for many years.
Donna held longtime memberships in the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary and the Lake Bonaparte Conservation Club. She also was active with the Harrisville Community Theatre, especially playing roles in their various performances.
As an extremely active woman for much of her life, she enjoyed anything outdoors including hunting, particularly loved to ice fish on Lake Bonaparte and was an avid book reader.
Surviving are her two children, Lisa J. Lawrence-Bango, and Fred J. and wife, Rachel Hall, all of Harrisville; three grandchildren, Morgan Hall, Maddie Hall and Ezra Hall; her sister, Jean Young, of Lowville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Reader who was killed at sea during WWII, and two sisters, Berta Langs and Laverna Ripley.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held in the spring in the Harrisville Community Cemetery, Harrisville. There will be no calling hours.
