Dennis LaDuc Obituary

LIVERPOOL, NY/HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Dennis G. LaDuc, 81, of 303 Buckley Rd., Liverpool, formerly of Harrisville, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a patient since November 20, 2012.

Born November 23, 1931, in Harrisville, NY, a son of Philias G. and Charlotte Gazin LaDuc, he was a 1950 graduate of Harrisville Central School.

He married Marie C. Cocard on July 19, 1954, in Luxembourg.                

A veteran, he entered the U.S. Air Force on June 19, 1951, and served primarily in Germany with the 518th Air Defense Group.  He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on June 18, 1955, from Niagara Falls.

Following his military service, he enrolled at CCBI in Syracuse, and was graduated from there with a degree in Business with emphasis on accounting.  After college, he worked as a Market Administration Federal Milk Auditor for the US Agriculture and Markets.  He later went to work for Eastern Milk Producers (MMI), in Syracuse, from where he retired in 1992  as the Office Manager after nearly 30 years of service.

Mr. LaDuc was a parishioner of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Mattydale.

Throughout his life, he was an avid reader, liked hunting and fishing, and especially loved to cook and spend time at his camp in Harrisville.

Survivors besides his wife include a son, Kenneth G. , and wife Calleen LaDuc, of Brewerton; a daughter, Cheryl S. LaDuc-Buchanan, and husband, Richard, of Sloansville, NY; a granddaughter, Jesse K. LaDuc, of Brewerton; three brothers, Clyde LaDuc and Stephen LaDuc, both of Harrisville, and Francis LaDuc, of Carthage; two sisters, Mary Bond, of Harrisville, and Anne Safe, of Angola, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Carroll and Frederick LaDuc, and a sister, Phyllis Carrol.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Solanus Church in Harrisville, with the Rev. Robert L. Decker, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Solanus Cemetery, Harrisville.

His family will receive relatives and friends at the church on the day of the funeral beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass.
