CROGHAN, NY ~ Cynthia "Cindy" Jean MacCue, 65, of 7573 Brewery Rd., Croghan, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 21, 2014, at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility, Lowville.
Born November 14, 1948, in Gouverneur, NY, a daughter of William and Keitha Kirkby Fuller, she was a 1966 graduate of Harrisville Central School.
She married Sherwood N. "Butch" MacCue on July 26, 1969 in Fine, NY.
Cindy was a mother and homemaker for much of her life, and enjoyed taking care of her family. Throughout the years, she enjoyed a variety of hobbies and favorite pastimes including going to garage sales, crocheting, fishing, casino gambling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 44+ years, "Butch", are three sons, Brian W. and companion Robin, of Carthage, Scott N. and (wife) Wendy, of Croghan, and Craig J. and (wife) Jamey, of Carthage; four grandchildren, Brianne, Corey, Hailey and Alison; three great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon and (husband) Stephen Chartrand, of Carthage, and a nephew, Dennis Chartrand, of Harrisville.
She was predeceased by her mother, Keitha, who died in 1995, and her father, William, who died in 2006.
A funeral service for Cynthia will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan, with the Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired United Methodist Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in the Swinburne Cemetery, Deer River.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, from 3 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
