HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Bruce J. Parow, 54, of 14205 Church Street, Harrisville, died Saturday evening April 23, 2016 in the emergency room at Carthage Area Hospital after being stricken at home.
Bruce was born on December 17, 1961 in Gouverneur, NY, the son of Wesley W. and Kay E. Hooley Parow.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 1980 graduate of Harrisville High School.
Prior to becoming disabled he had been a milk truck driver for Gaetano Trucking in Watertown. In his younger years, he had been employed with the Newton Falls Pulp and Paper Company.
If Bruce was not spending time out hunting, he loved playing cards and board games with his family. He had also spent several years as a drummer with various local bands.
Surviving are his common law wife, Nicole “Nikki” Blundon, his father, Wesley, his son, Dylan Parow and step daughter Cheyanne Blundon, all of Harrisville; two sisters, Melissa Parow and her son Ethan of Harrisville, and Julie (Peter) Engelhart and their son Zachary and his wife Ashlyn Engelhart and their children Lily and Lucas, of Glenfield.
He was predeceased by his mother Kay, who died on June 25, 2010.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Scanlon Funeral Home, 14187 State St. Harrisville. The Rev. Daniel L. Chapin will officiate.
A calling hour will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Edwards, NY.
