Born November 1, 1946 in Gouverneur, NY, a daughter of Herbert and Minnie Reed McCumber, she was a 1964 graduate of Gouverneur High School.

A marriage to James W. Tebo in 1964 in Gouverneur ended in divorce.

As a young girl, she worked for her family’s business, McCumber Ice Cream, on Grove Street, driving an ice cream truck for her father. She later owned and operated Bonnie’s Luncheonette in Gouverneur in the 1960’s and 1970’s. From 1979 until 1980, she attended BOCES where she obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing degree, afterwhich she went to work for EJ Noble Hospital in Gouverneur as an LPN until 2002, when she became disabled. Also, beginning in 1980, she owned and operated Tebo’s Ice Cream Parlor in Gouverneur for many years.

From time to time throughout her life, she liked traveling, especially to Viginia Beach and Florida. She also very much enjoyed picking blackberries, crocheting and sewing, and absolutely loved the company of her dogs and cats.

Surviving are three sons, James (Laura) Tebo, of Natural Bridge, Joseph (Dawn) Tebo, of Russell, and Jeffrey (Melissa Parow) Tebo, of Harrisville; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend in the world, Melissa Parow, of Harrisville.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Tebo, who died in infancy at the age of 6 months, her brother, Herbert McCumber, Jr., and her sister Marie Denton.
