CROGHAN, NY ~ Anne Terrell Kellogg, age 87, beloved wife of Collins F. Kellogg, Sr., of 10257 Resha Rd., Croghan, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 22, 2015 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY.
She was born in Oneonta, NY on March 29, 1928, the only child of Harold and Florence Musson Terrell.
Anne attended the experimental Percy I. Bugbee School for Talented Students in Oneonta through the 8th grade and was a graduate of Oneonta High School. She later attended the Pratt Institute of Fashion Design in Brooklyn, NY, and was graduated from the Eastman School of Dental Hygiene in Rochester, NY. She practiced dental hygiene in Oneonta, NY.
Anne was an accomplished artist who always recorded her travels and observations in her watercolors, drawings, and writings. An avid gardener and gourmet chef, her vast knowledge was a resource for many. Her love of literature was reflected in her wit and sense of humor. She travelled extensively in her lifetime including many times above the Arctic Circle, Yukon and Alaska, the Western States, Europe, and Africa.
In the company of their children and family friends, Anne was joined in marriage to Collins F. Kellogg, Sr. on July 4, 1976 at “Juniper Rock” - the home they built on the Resha Road in Croghan.
Survivors include her loving husband Collins; their six children and spouses, Lucinda Miller, of Wild Rose, WI, Dr. Collins F. Kellogg, Jr., of Rutland, NY, Christopher Miller, of Lowville, Anne Kellogg, of Sylmar, CA, Elizabeth Perry, of Syracuse, NY, and Meg Tiernan, of Clay, NY; nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Also surviving are her maternal cousins, Mary Jane Schaeffer, of Gilbertsville, NY, Bill Musson, who still farms their family farm “Home Acres” in Gilbertsville, NY, Roberta Corcoran, of Bailey, CO, Martha Gus, of Sauquoit, NY, Dorothy Musson, of Cincinnati, OH, Molly Hall, of Hamilton, NY and Scott Musson, of White River Junction, VT, and their spouses and children.
In keeping with Anne’s wishes, there will no calling hours or funeral. A spring committal of her ashes will be at the family’s convenience, when the daffodils bloom.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network, or to the Croghan Public Library. The family would like to thank the EMTs of Guilfoyle Ambulance and the excellent staff in the Emergency Room, ICU, and PCU units at Samaritan Medical Center for the kindness and care they have provided since November 11th.
