HARRISVILLE, NY ~ Barbara R. Bango, 90, of 13510 Jerden Falls Rd., Harrisville, died Monday, August 8, 2011, at Carthage Area Hospital.
Born October 1, 1920, in Chippewa Bay, NY, a daughter of Stanley and Ella Brayton Davie, she was graduated from Harrisville Central School in 1939.
She married Philip R. Bango on December 24, 1940, in Harrisville. Mr. Bango died in 2003.
Mrs. Bango was a homemaker all of her life. Her favorite pastimes included knitting and crocheting and she especially liked reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary P. and Marjorie Bango, of Pitcairn; a daughter, Amy C. Bango, of Harrisville; a sister, Jean Leonard, of Richville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Hennessy, who died in 1999, two brothers, Reginald Davie, who died at birth, and Stanley Davie, who died in 1951.
Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Harrisville Fire Department’s Rescue Squad.
